<description>Pratt Institute presents its 2012 Graduate Communications Design MFA Exhibition: at once collective and individual, fixed and fluctuating; one survey of ten theses.

X is a sign both simple and complex, both a symbol and a metaphor. X is an axis, locating device; X is for mapping treasure or unknown values; for finite events, and unrevealed futures. X is a letter, a mark, a proxy, an intersection and the number ten.

On display in the exhibition is the collective thesis work of graduating students Anthony Acock, Chantal Fischzang, Richard Hall, Christina Latina, Anqi Li, Nick Misani, Frances Pharr, Mimi Rojanasakul, Janice Rudan and Natalie Sims, encoded by ten versions of X.

For Details See: The Exhibition Website.

This project is a pre-test for my thesis topic. It studies the pattern of commercial language. With this repetition of one clear message, it forms
the trigger to stimulate desire.

<description>A branding project presenting the "Air Reservoir."

Air, the most common yet inconspicuous resource around us, without which no one can live. However, the status of the earth atmosphere is not stable. The air we are breathing now is different from 500 years ago. We are consuming air, just as we consume any other kind of resource, regardless how devastating it might be when we are facing the shortage. Since the air pollution is a one-way process, there is no return of the air condition when it is getting too late.

The Air Reservoir project is a worldwide air bank designed for individual to preserve air under customized conditions. Make an order today, make a better future.

<description>Inspired by ancient Chinese Metaphysics, this architectural proposal aims to improve the walking experience in Times Square. It is a multi-sensory waterfall corridor that lets New Yorkers capture ephemeral thoughts, self-consciousness and other feelings coming from pure simplicity.

<description>"Living Dead Species: A fictional National Museum 2184 Biennial” is an installation that creates a scenario of a fictional exhibition in 2184 to tell the story of extinct languages. Taking the biological extinction as a visual metaphor, this project calls for attentions to the threats of language extinction. Examples are three unknown plant species whose medical effect is kept by indigenous languages in Bolivia, Uganda and New Guinea that will disappear in the next thirty decades according to National Geographic's project.
